[THEME] RedRum 2.0

I'm having a problem getting the keyboard to work.

I install it, but the normal android keyboard is still there. I check settings, and i can select multi touch, or android, but it makes no difference. any ideas?

In case you need to know, I used the sprecover update.zip method to install.

Edit,

I keep getting a FC when I try to use the keyboard now.

First thing to ask is if you installed this on top of another theme or if you came straight from stock Sapphire. It really does matter

Additionally, look in /system/app and see if you have more than one version of the keyboard in there.
It will be LatinIme.apk or LatinImeGoogle.apk
The D2 keyboard should be LatinIME.apk...notice the IME is all capitals.
Let me know which one(s) and how many are there.
There was/is an issue when loading this ROM that when you install the g_apps it puts in another stock keyboard.
I ran into an issue with it as well when I made this theme.

I installed the one with the g_apps and didn't have multiple keyboards, so I would assume it would have been fixed, unless he had a custom keyboard before and backed it up/restored it with some kind of backup.

As he said though, make sure you were on stock before loading this app. Best way is to download it from the skins thread that is stickied in the cvpcs forum. Just flash stock then flash the modified theme. Also make sure you don't have any other custom keyboards installed, like carlz mentioned.

Unfortuately, I have already wiped everything, and reloaded sapphire 1.0 with the redrum theme only, no keyboard, so I can't tell you what files I had before.

Originally, I installed sapphire, them installed the redrum theme, and then installed the keyboard. I did not have any other keyboards installed. I was coming from FRG22 before sapphire, but I did a wipe/factory reset before loading sapphire.

I will try it again after I do a backup, and see what happens.

Installed but never got the wallpaper and dock text launcher like in the OP second picture
Text icons are available as a seperate download at the bottom of the OP. The wallpaper is a few posts further down as an attachment.

Thank you I found it the solution and your zip. Installed the D2kb with recovery but not installed.
Amazing theme

Did the install abort? or did everything go well?
To enable the D2 keyboard, from your homescreen hit the menu button, settings, language & keyboard, select Multi touch keyboard (checkbox).
Then when typing something, long-press the text filed and select "input method" choose multi-touch and you should be good

I hope you don't mind me posting this.

I know some people like the stock launcher, but would like a background for the dock like launcher pro.

I made an edit to the wallpaper to give the original dock a sort of "background".

Here a screen shot of what it looks like.
I also attached a copy of the wallpaper below.

Looks good dude!

Killer theme! Great job. My Pandora widget for some reason did not theme. Everything else is perfect. Used rom manager. Should I wipe and try again?

Pandora was just updated a day or two ago on the market. Haven't had the chance to redo it yet. I'll have it posted by tomorrow (Sunday) night. :)
