This phone has way too many issues

Rare I suppose... But it happened.
Maybe its not the phone, maybe its the apps that cause the issues. Who knows. But overall its still a good phone

That was kinda my point. I didn't know if you believed that you got a few defective phones... Return it again - to a different store if possible.

I'm good, its not that many issues as the other one. Just minor ones.
I'm just waiting about 6 months till something sick comes out, then I'ma just grab that.

The music player issue is not the music player problem but the MP3 lib file and a specific settings on the mp3 itself. As in Ximly uses the MP3 lib file in 2.2, and when Music Player refuses to play a song so does Ximly. Its also how you encoded the MP3. So it happens sometimes and not sometimes. They'll probably fix it shortly if not by 2.3. It also depends on which MP3 library they used for Android.

Camera problem I had was a badly formatted SD card. It wasn't showing up when I took pictures, would lose files, and just do weird things. This was because I kept pulling the USB without unmounting it from Windows. Windows 7 handles this better, but it was happening when I was pulling the phone off a Windows XP machine. What happened is not unmounting the phone caused a corrupt SD card. Formatted it in the phone after I backed up the data, and no problems anymore now that I always unmount the phone.

The Iphone has just as many problems, but its supplied by 1 company with 1 OS with 1 set of hardware. Apple keeps good reigns on their product and limits mutations in the software. Android is multiple hardware, multiple tweeked OSes for each hardware, multiple companies, and multiple versions. On top of its built off a modified Linux kernel which is numerous and splintered. So you will have problems crop up numerous times. I bet the Fascinate's discussion board has the same problems going on their boards.

Thats the nature of this beast.

Stock 2.2 X and I don't have any of the issues that you are talking about. Perhaps it is your particular phones causing the problem.

First the whole thing with mp3s sometimes not playing, then I'll record stuff/take pictures and it won't go through for some reason, it says cannot play/view the file. What's up with this? When I had my iPhone I never had any issues like that and the OS was smooth as butter, while this one sometimes will get laggy and the only way to fix it is to do a battery pull. I know none of you work for Motorola/Google so it's not your fault this phone has so many issues like that, I guess I'm just venting. Before you say, oh you can download an app for this, for that, etc... it shouldn't work like that, simple features such as music player and camera should work straight outta the box. Anyone else experience these issues?

I haven't experienced a single problem you listed here. Try learning to use the OS before you complain about it.

As some of you can see, I'm not the only one with these issues. Returning my device won't do any good since this is obviously a software issue. I guess I have to hope Gingerbread comes out soon.

If it were "obviously" a software issue, everyone running the same software on the same hardware would have the same issue. That is not the case. It is actually a batch issue.

You got a piece of crap, If my phone had just one problem, it would have been replaced. You are missing out on a great phone. Just get defective phones replaced from verizon.

So that would be 3 brand new piece of crap phones in a row right? *Snaps fingers* shucks, just my luck... Knock it off, the Droid X is a good phone minus the issues... period

Uh yea. I went through seven (SEVEN) of the original Droids before I got one that was not completely buggy. The kind of issues no one else was having on that phone? I had them on all seven of mine.

I'm gonna go to the store and exchange it for an Incredible. I guess that phone doesn't seem to have as many issues except for battery life and reception, but I've never had a problem with either before, so I think I'll be fine.

I haven't had any issues with my phone. I got my first on launch day and that lasted until it ended up in the Colorado River (can't blame software for that issue) and I got my new one (thanks, insurance!) in November. I am running stock 2.2 OTA I use the stock camera and music app...no problems.

This is a funny thread. However I have had a lot of issues with my DX and I am on my third one. My camera will sometimes work, other times it will flash to the camera and then right back to my home screen. It locks up a lot for no good reason and I have had several times I have tried to answer a phone call and can't or I am in a phone call and my speaker just goes dead. People say they can still hear me but I can not hear them.

In my opinion, (and I know I will get crucified for saying this) The DX is a pile of s#@t. I used the Droid 1 for over a year without a single problem, maybe a glitch every now and then but nothing like the train wreck all three DX's have been for me.

Thats all, now you can all pound on me like you do everyone else who does not like their DX.

Sorry your phone sux. I know it can be frustrating to be on your third device. Maybe another make and model will better suit your needs.

Good luck.

So tell me Future Boy, who's President of The United States in 1985?

I have issue with the MP3 player as well. It locks up and I have to pull the battery. I also have issues with the navigation locking up as well.

I blame it on all the stupid apps that I installed. :p

Is it hard to reset the phone back to original and still keep the 2.2 OTA?
