Thoughts of trading in Bionic for Razr

Strange I have no web lag with my Bionic or when I tried the RAZR at the store. I had them head to head and the RAZR was a tad faster.

Was at verizon store today and spent a few minutes checking out the razr. It is better then Bionic screen quality wise. Could barely see the pixels(looking at the screen 4 inches away from my face). The biggest problem with this phone is LAG while surfing the web. I think its motos problem with their drivers. The web surfing and pinch to zoom was barely working. With 1 gig ram and dual 1.2 processor u would think this phone would fly threw web pages. Sad to say but iphone has 100 times smoother web browsing the razr. If both Rezound and Nexus will expirience the same web lag I will have to just go with the iphone.

Interesting. I did a speed comparison at the store yesterday between iPhone 4s and the Razr of time to load a website (same one on each).
iPhone = 16 seconds
Razr = 6 seconds on 4g lte

this was for me to see if the faster 4g network was noticeable. Not an indication of a phone by phone comp per say. If I wanted that I would have compared both using 3g.

It's too bad battery life on the RAZR is weak with no ability to swap out or add an extended battery or I would be all over this phone.

I never trust display phones to give a good indication of how the phone will act day-to-day, too many little kids have slobbered on them or old ppl being all "what's this majigger"? The one I played with at best buy already had a lot of screen issues.

Already swap the bionic within my 14 days, no rergets what so ever!! :), Rezound coming out on Monday? Who cares, the raze is working for me, 3 days and it's still been awesome! NO PROBLEMS what so ever. Drop data one or twice, my bionic did that every second to minute of every hour! Overall, great phone, and I have over dozens of smart phones, by far one of the best phone i have ever own!! Okay enough gloating, good luck on your decesion.

I'm thinking I will check out the
HTC REZOUND if it's really coming out tomorrow. But I know the battery life in that will suck too..perhaps I will just stick with my Bionic. I rarely have data issues and everything works fine.. I guess I can't keep up with technology.lol. But the Nexus will be out next week

I exchanged my excellent (but somewhat problematic) Bionic for the RAZR on day one, at Costco. I felt like crap doing so, mostly because the Bionic (like DX and OG) is an amazing device! It was a little heavier and thicker than I'd like, but felt great in the hand. The pentile screen made me question the purchase in the beginning, but it grew on me and after a couple of weeks, I didn't even notice the pentile effects. I ended up loving the screen, imagine that lol.

My Bionic lost data like crazy though, something I cannot tolerate due to my past experiences with Motorola's excellent reception reliability (They really spoiled me!). That, and the creaky plastic back reminded me often how the Bionic was not as solid as every other Moto smartphone I've had in the past.

With that idea planted in my head, I decided to do the exchange (despite losing the incredible accessory package that came with the Bionic). The first thing I noticed was not the size or weight, but the screen... After getting used to the Bionic's screen and appreciating its functionality, the RAZR's screen scared the crap out of me. I noticed immediately a greenish tint (to white/gray) at low brightness, and the bluish tint (entire screen) when viewed on any angle. The colors are also over-saturated. These are far more noticeable than the pentile effects IMO. I feel the Bionic's screen is superior and if I could drop it in the RAZR's body, I would. I am getting used to the RAZR's screen though, and it doesn't take much away from the amazing product that it is. The data has been good so far, but this seems to be an issue that can surface in any random amount of time.

I wanted a phone that would keep me happy for at least two years, and I believe this is the only phone that could. I've considered the Nexus and HTC, but build quality, voice reliability and quality, and battery life matter most to me, and I feel Motorola focuses on these attributes.

I'm glad I made the exchange, but if I couldn't get the RAZR, a little hidden electrical tape to end the creaking back cover on the Bionic, and a patch to fix the data issues, would certainly keep me happy for as long as I expect.

Good luck on your decision, it is a tough one!

I will say, out of all the smartphones I have owned, the Motorolas, have the best call quality out of all of them. This might be the only decision to make me keep the Bionic..

Well there you go, you answered the question yourself...lol. I honestly feel if one has a Bionic and isnt having problems, everything works fine to you, there is no need to switch. If I had the money when it launched I would have a Bionic right now, and I wouldnt be regretting it IF everything was working fine for me.

My 2 cents, new technology is never flawless. i have lived thru 4 Asus transformer exchanges to get a good one. i ordered my Razr on Amazon to replace my OG droid, i am looking forward to the fun

Returned the Bionic and got the Razr and I couldn't be happier. I haven't had any issues with freezing and the battery is OK for a 4g phone.

thanks for the reply. I'm glad yours is working great. It just seems like a lot of other people are having a lot of issues with the phone. I've lost my respect for motorola as of right now.. not sure what to do. I might go and look at the htc rezound tomorrow see how that is.

If your not sure about the razr you should wait for the Nexus. I wouldn't even consider the rezound.
