Thunderbolt vs. Bionic

I know there are places that show you how to root your phone but it scares me to death. what happens if you brick the phone? what is the advantage to doing it other than speed? I wouldn't do it on the thunderbolt but I passed my X down to a family member.

Well is there any reason why people should stay away from locked bootloaders now? Seems both D2 and Dx Both have ROOTED gingerbread roms available. I'm so glad I'm waiting for Bionic.

The only reason DX and D2 have rooted Gingerbread ROMs is because of a leaked build from Motorola. If Motorola doesn't update those phones to any newer OS, they will be stuck on Gingerbread forever. It would be the same thing with the Bionic if its locked.

Look at the Modding community for most higher end phones compared to D2/X.... heck CM wont even touch the things... good thing we can count on people like p3 and all the others for some GB action.... months after I was running it on my d1 I might add...
