Indeed. Its probably the only one of the non dual core phones able to competently handle ics. With ics, this phone will be pretty much as good as the top tier phones out right now. Its missing a dual core, but that's all. Great camera, good ram, nice processor, good screen... nothing is really bad. Just on par or better. The only drawback is the battery life, which will be even worse on ics if the nexus is any indicator of how it'll handle it.
