Today Looks Like Verizon 4G LTE Outage Wednesday

always seems like 4g phones lose 3g and 4g when this happens, but 3g only phones are fine. and vwl always say 3g wasn't effected but mine always it..

that's b/c 4G phones use eHRPD, and only the Thunderbolt and Rezound (i.e. HTC's chipset) can turn off, so to speak, eHRPD
 
As stated in a previous post, 4g is up in Boulder, Co. But as you can see, not to impressive. Maybe they're implementing their updated throttling technology :thumbdown:

I have 3g but no 4g in Tampa

Same here

A lot of times 4G phones will lose 3G as well b/c part of the problem is the eHRPD technology that Verizon uses to handle the hand-off between 3G and 4G. It tends to suffer when LTE dies, and therefore a lot of 4G phones will lose 3G as well.

The Thunderbolt and Rezound have the ability to get deep into the modem settings and disable eHRPD, and therefore enable good ol' evdo Rev. A 3G.
