Touch screen issues

Evenin' all! (and happy Thanksgiving, for the last 1:33 left of it :) )

This evening I ran into an issue that has me rather concerned, I must say. I was exchanging text messages, and as I usually do in those situations, I was using the virtual keyboard. This time was different, however, because it was acting very strange. I was being consistent as I always have when using the VKB, but this time I was getting double letters (as if I"d hit too hard, when I wasn't), or letters I didn't meant to type (not letters side by side either...in once case I was trying to type an 's' and an 'l' popped up!). I turned it off and back on again, but the problem seems to have gotten worse; now it doesn't seem to be limited to the KB, but seems to affect apps on the main screen. I went to open one of my notifications, and it acted as if I was touching one of my apps below.

I'm about to remove the battery and see if that clears things up, but was wondering if anyone else has seen this behavior or if I need to pay a visit to a VZW store.

Thanks!

i sometimes have issues with mine where my virtual keyboard will not come up or respond.. just wondering if anyone knows why.??

Im bumping this because Im having the exact same problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

this just happened completely randomly.... as I was using it.. it started going on.

Happened to me too. It had occurred before, but nothing that wasn't immediately fixed, today, however, it's just gone overboard.

Sorry that I haven't updated my original post before now; I was just reminded that I posted it.

I believe I discovered the issue that I was having. I'd ordered some cheap micro-usb cables off the internet, which I'd used with my droid on my computer with no problem. At some time, I'd found a USB power adapter from an iPod kit that I could use with the cord and charge my Droid overnight in a wall outlet. It was while it was plugged into this combination I experienced the issue. When I used the cheapy micro-usb cable with the USB power adapter that actually came with my Droid, I did not have this problem. I've been able to send text messages with no problems while plugged in since.

I don't claim to say it makes sense, just passing on my experience :)
