I hope this isn't thread crapping but wouldn't your paid apps stay with your account, so when you swap phones your paid apps wouldn't be going with it?

Paid apps are tied to your Gmail account and would not be left on the phone once a reset was done.

The Eris is a heck of a machine, although I like the Droid more but it may fit his personal taste, size and etc......
