Transferring Sms to new phone via titanium backup

I have recently upgraded from droid x to droid razr. I used titanium backup to backup my sms messages. When I attempted to restore them to new phone I lost my 3g and 4g internet connection completely. I could not browse or do anything on the internet from my phone. I had to do factory restore. I went through this process twice and same thing both times. Can anyone help?
