Transparent Lock screen Question?

To all you Themers out there How hard would it be to change the stock lock-screen bar transparent? I was thinking about trying this and wanted to know which steps i could take to do this. Is it even possible?

check out Linear by Bgill I believe he has a transparent option.

But is it possible to do this with out a theme? I was trying to keep the stock theme but hvae a Transparent lock screen bar.
