Tried to root, Battery wont charge, No service

I flashed sprecovery and let it reboot all the way but now my battery wont charge. Its now at the point where my phone wont even turn on when plugged in. Do I need a new battery or is there a way to charge this thing?

So nothing happens when you plug it in, did you try a diff cable?
If you can get it to at least come on, you could try flashing the stock .sbf to see if you can get it to charge again. When it came up, was the battery indicator blank on the main screen, or did it have a battery symbol that was blank?

Have you tried different outlets throughout you house? Or the USB (although it takes longer to charge that way)?? Or. perhaps, a different charger all together?

Again, just throwing stuff out there!

^^ What Yank said..... Put your phone on the Wall charger (not computer) for at least 2-3 hours and you should be able to boot up after that. Droids do not like to flash roms or anything once the battery is below 40%. I usually will not try to flash anything if my battery is at or below 60%.

First I would try allowing your phone to charge for several hours then try to reboot into recovery. It would seem no one else is addressing the other problem of no service which would indicate a rom that failed to install correctly or an interruption while flashing something.
As long as you can boot into recovery your phone is not bricked. Download custom rom of choice using computer. Place that. Zip file on SD card and rename to update( do not rename "update.zip" the. Zip file extension will be added automatically if using win vista or win 7) reboot holding x and power into recovery, now select install update.zip. once finished you should be good after reboot. I would suggest simply stunning v4.5 as your custom rom but, rom stability varies from phone to phone and user to user. Don't ever listen to somone who says such and such is the best rom. It is all based on opinion and the best to one person could be the worst to another person.

You may have totally sapped your battery while flashing. Have you tried letting it charge for an hour or two with the wall charger? This has never happened to me, but I have read many threads where people's battery fully discharge and take several hours to charge back up.
Otherwise, I agree with the others: possibly the battery OR the charger itself??

This doesn't really help at the moment, but for others -- its probably not a horrible idea to have a P323 with a spare battery in it all charged up and ready at all times. You never know when you're going to get ready to run out the door only to see your battery is almost dead, or end up in the situation you're in.

Pic of P323 attached for those who don't know what it is.

Ok, went to verizon and they tried a different battery, different cable and all kinds of stuff. Just plugged into wall as suggested and the phone powered up and booted all the way to the home screen but says process server not responding. Then it just keeps dying and rebooting. I know the battery is good because it told me so when i had enough power left after i flashed it and it said battery ok. I think i might not have had enough power when flashing the first time so it just screwed up the reboot. So what I think i should do is buy a wall battery charger because the phone doesnt want to charge the battery all the way, it just has a slash through it like verizon put a block on my phones charging ability because i tried to root on 2.2. Then when i have full power i should try to flash a different rom. Does this sound about right??

I don't know about Verizon putting a block on your phones charging ability. I don't believe they are capable of doing such a thing. If you have a good charged battery now though I recommend doing as I stated in my previous post. Also you don't need full power to flash a rom. 50% or greater will do it.

I do not have another battery at this time but if i cant get this one to charge i will buy a second with a wall battery charger(separate from phone). I think that was the problem because i was only at 40% or so when i tried to flash. Thanks for all the advice guys but just to clarify. I should flash a new rom through rsd lite? Can someone give me some good links for a couple different roms please?

If I were you I would forget rsd lite. You can go to the Droid hacks/custom roms section of this site and download one to your computer then transfer it to your SD card. Rename it "update" reboot into recovery and select install update.zip. I will see about providing you a link give me a sec as I am on my phone and not the computer.

Here it is:http://www.ssandroid.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=56&func=view&catid=4&id=135
This is not a direct download link but it will help you find it.

Connect phone to computer with USB cord. Drag down notification bar and select where it says USB connected. Select mount then drag file to the removable drive now under my computer that wasn't there before

Thanks man but my phone wont charge even when i leave it plugged into the wall. When i hold up on dpad plus power it says battery low even after 5 hours. I purchased that 323 charger from amazon and 2 extra batteries so i'l pick back up when they arrive and i can get a full charge. Thanks again everybody, really appreciate it.
