Well for the record; my Turbo, ordered directly from VZW, also has a "Verizon" logo near the bottom directly above "Droid"

Maybe early models did and the later ones did not? I ordered mine long after the initial launch, and there were some special colors released later on.

mine has a Verizon logo painted on the back, when I get to work I'll check my other 3 or 4.
