I have a Moto Droid X, recently upgraded to 2.2.

Like many other features on this phone, I have managed to unwittingly turn on the feature that requires a PIN to unlock the phone after it has timed out on the screen. I have searched high and low in the phone and this forum, but I can't find any way to turn this feature off.

I am hoping someoene on this forum can help.

Thanks.

Here ya go...follow along....

This doesn't help, actually. While this type of super-simple solution has helped me before, it doesn't work on this one. I've been through all the screens including including this one, and there's no place to turn of this feature.

this happened to me today. I updated and it forced me to enter a pin. the option if there its just grayed out. I called VZW and reset the phone. This fixed it.

settings>privacy>factory data reset

I was afraid it would require a factory reset. I did this today, and the PIN function is now turned off.

Now I have to get my phone back to where it was before the PIN trouble started. My first problem is that speed dials are no longer working. I can't assign any speed dials.

Thanks for the help.

Same problem

I had the same problem after updating.
I was able to shut it off with out a hard reset

Settings -> location and security -> setup screen lock and selected none
worked for me

Thought I might as well put in my 2 cents worth...I had the same issue and did a hard reset. It fixed the problem and I am a happy, happy camper. dancedroid

If you have a corporate account like Microsoft Exchange, that could be the cause of the problem. Try going to your computer Exchange website, into options and delete all the mobile phone connections listed, like your Droid. Then go into your Droid settings on your phone and delete your corporate account from your Droid. Then reboot. From there, add your corporate account again into your X settings, power off and on, and you may be good to go, I was...

How do you remove a corporate account?

I've already done the reset, but one of the other problems that I was having involved my corporate account. I believe it didn't complete the initial setup, and it never worked. I couldn't find any way to remove it. Since I had two problems pointing me to the reset, I went ahead and did the reset.

In the future, I'd rather be able to remove the corporate account and not have to reset. Can you tell me how?

Thanks.

Has anyone else noticed that the corp. account does not import the contact pictures?
I have a pic or logo for all my contacts. I set them all in outlook. On my droid they all synced fine and with the pictures, but not the X.

I ended up deleting the corp acct. and just used Touchdown.
