twitter linking to droid x

I have the droid x. Whenever I go to link a twitter account with a contact, it automatically makes their twitter name the contact name on my phone. I cannot figure out anyway to fix this without unlinking twitter from the contacts. This really annoys me so please HELP!!!

sadly this has been a present issue since release. For whatever reason the twitter name gets prioritized as the display name. Afaik there's no real solution, I ended up just unsyncing those contacts.
