Solved two problems: car will not upload contacts and additional symbol is now in top status bar

Thanks all - I never would have been able to do this without all your help - you are the best! 
And, Sajokaz, I think you are right, because there was some kind of permission it asked for! But, I had to do the down swipe for some reason - which is why I had not seen it previously! And I am hoping the battery drain will be slower now that the transfer is done - until I can get a new car charger... It's been raining lately so I have been driving the older car - new car nerves - so have not been able to test that theory yet.
