Unable to get into recovery mode

Hello, I tried upgrading to Cyanogenmod 6.0 and I am stuck on the splash screen, it does not go any further. I could not actually power down my phone without removing the battery and when I tried to get into recovery mode it just sends me to the bootloader. Is there a way to fix this?

if you cant get into recovery mode and CM6 wont boot, youre only option is to flash the 2.0.1 SBF file from the bootloader and re-root.

Alright I installed SP Recovery in attempts to do a factory reset of the phone, which I did, but now I am stuck on an endless Motorola logo screen.

I tried downloading an update.zip and installing it via SPR but that didn't work. It always says that the file doesn't exist or something to that extent. It's not named update.zip.zip I already double checked. I don't really know what else to do.
