There is one thing I really hate in life and that is being forced to buy phones from Verizon. For years some phone manufactures have made phones CDMA or GSM specific in the US. Many of these phones were also locked to the carrier and the only way to get a phone that worked on your carrier at launch, if you were a Verizon customer was to buy your phone from Verizon. In other words the unlocked variants of the devices would only include GSM radios which would not work on Verizon.
Recently many manufacturers have been including both GSM and CDMA radios in their devices. Apple, and Motorola have been a few that have been doing this for a few years. The Galaxy S6 was also sold like this if memory serves me right. Reports also indicate that the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will be sold unlocked with both radios in the US meaning the phones should work on any US carrier. This is great because you are able to buy your phone directly from Samsung and won't have to get the phone a week late. Verizon has been notorious for releasing phones a week or two after everyone else. Hopefully everyone will be able to get the device at the same time this year!
