Update 2.4 will not install on my rooted droid 2 global

I'm not sure where the update gets saved. My only other suggestion would be to remove cm recovery and try again.

other than uninstalling rom manager and droid 2 bootstrapper would there b another way to remove it?

Update file is patch based. It has patch files, (delta files) not "whole" files. Patch will only work if you have the original file that patch is ran against. You can find the update (it is available for download on the forum), but you can't install it manually.

I had the same issue, I found a system dump file with all the stock .apk files and I went through and installed them and then set the permissions accordingly and then the update was successfull
