Are you getting the service unavailable on wifi? Pretty sure you
have to be on the network... And no I have not got it yet either.

For those who get the service not available, there is a trick that worked for me and most people here in Los Angeles and Orange County California. Set your phone to CDMA only. This can be accomplished by using the LTEOnOff app. Then check for new software as usual then you will see it. It will take about 1hr or a bit less using that speed but it works. Once your phone updates are resets use the same app to set the phone back to the way you had it.

Nice. Update the firmware. Your trick worked perfect.

Why do we, in Socal, need to do that I wonder ?

Thx

It's not just SoCal, I am in Phoenix and used this trick Sat night to get mine and then repeated it Sunday morning on my daughters then posted it for all to see in a diff thread. Not sure why it is this way, but the work around has been successful for anyone that has had the Service Error.

What did this update do for TBOLT? Should I update if haven't had any TBOLT problems since day of purchase?

Funny tried that method still gives me ERROR just won't budge.

Try setting it to CDMA only, then do a battery pull, let it sit for about 5 minutes, remove the sim and reset it, put it back together and boot and give it one more shot.

If you're having that much trouble, I would bring it to a verizon store and say "here's my $600 phone, it wont update, please fix it, I'll be back in 1/2 hour to pick it up, thanks"

I am currently updating, using the CDMA only reboot, etc method and it has so far taken an hour with probably 20% still to go. Is this normal? I'm hoping it fixes the weather location bug which drives me crazy.

The only other real problem I have ( apart from hurting my finger trying to turn it on every day) is that when connected to the computer I invariably lose my internet connection in about 20 minutes whether WIFI is on or not. Anyone else have that one?

Otherwise, it is an amazing phone.

No update yet?

As of today i have not recieved the update, tried switching to 1x and all that but nothing works.Do i have to just wait for it to be pushed to me?

Since Verizon and HTC now know about the rebooting problem, they may have pulled the update.

I just downloaded mine this morning. Still no reboot issues and my gps locks within 5 seconds now
