I charge every night and never turn my phone off.

Kuku..
So all the stuff I hear from ppl who say if you keep your phone chargin for a long period of time, say for instance. Charging it over night, that ur battery would pretty much be useless, or would be draining out faster isn't true?

That could be potentially true if you were using an inferior device or maybe a mismatched charger but the fact is once the phone is full of juice it stops accepting charge from the usb, just enough to keep the phone on not to charge the battery. That is my understanding.

Ahhh okay..
With that being said, I just plugged my phone in for the night which was at 40%..
I live in a area where I get spotty coverage, no 3G. But digital signal, enough to use the web.
But that hardly affects the battery though, when the phone is fully charged in the morning, at the end of the day the battery is usually at 70 or 60, thats average usage or mainly texting, I hardly ever call..haha
When the phone drops to 40% thats when the camera or video is in use, plus the wifi including the the spotty coverage, im moving pretty soon, which means 3G..=]

I've never heard of charging all nite causing a problem. My wifes got a DX and she does this with no issues at all with her battery.

Sent from somewhere...

Keeping batteries at a high state of charge will reduce cycle life but over the average life of a smartphone I don't think it really matters. I charge mine all night...

We don't have a landline. Only cellphones. Imagine the frustration if we had to call 911, waiting for the Droid to boot up. We leave our phones on 24/7.

That's a good point. I don't have a land line either and that would suck

Then again most heavy users will burn through most of the battery every day the battery goes through a power cycle but it is normally not completely dead when you recharge. As long as its getting cycled it should be fine.

F.Y.I. This is for storing lithium ion batteries over a period of 3 months or more.-> If you ever plan on storing a lithium ion battery for an extended period of time then deplete the battery to 50% and then power off and remove the battery. The battery will store better that way. If its stored when completely dead it will have a hard time charging back to full potential, and if at full it will have a hard time holding a charge.
