That "task killer" was what was eating your battery alive if it was installed on the first one. 
Also, if they put an antivirus on there, pull it off as well. Make sure WiFi isn't turned on if you're not using it, ditto the GPS system, and put your phone information (make/model, NOT your phone number) in your side panel.
