Verizon cancel your account for "excessive data usage"?

Makes sense to me why you wouldn't hook into wifi, in that case. I don't have unlimited data, now. (Long boring story) When I did have unlimited I still hooked up to wifi because the browsing was faster on Fios. But yeah, if you have it, and it's the best you have, use it.

Not the case for me either, unfortunately. Only Internet I can get where I live is either satellite internet (astronomically expensive and very limited data usage) or DSL at 3 MB down and 0.5 up. My 4G blows that away. I don't even use my WI-FI on my Nexus any more at home. Just leave it on 4G.

I wonder how hard it would be if it is your only source of media? I've read that some use their Verizon data instead of cable and home internet. I could see my family using that much if my phone was my TV and internet source.

First things first....Verizon loses Zero on the iPhone sale. It's roughly $180 to build and less than $10 chinese labor to do the final assembly. So you can debunk the theory on $$$ lost on the sale of iPhones.

Hey no reason to be a Jerk.... I pay full retail for devices.. so I can keep my unlimited.. you could have too.... Also its not people like me that caused the issues.. Its Apple with all of their fees.. Verizon loses about $430 on each Iphone they sell.. $30 upgrade fee.. the end of unlimited all the result of Apple and their quest to own the wireless industry. No one made you give up unlimited.. You could of payed full retail or provided your own equipment.. That was your choice...

I still have unlimited. My point is that I would keep it for much longer if not for your abuse. It is a mobile phone, not a home internet connection. So yes I believe "someone" (or more accurately a group of someones) gave up my unlimited. You, I believe, are part of that group. Yes I could pay full retail at my next upgrade. My point is I wouldn't have to if it wasn't for folks like you. So while I pay for my other internet connections, I have to also pay more for my phone connection in the future, to continue to provide for your "free" abuse. But I also believe that your unlimited will come to an end, and you will cry a river while the rest of us say I told you so

Just like the title says.. I use over 100gb a month.. A rep told me that If I continue at this rate Verizon will send me a letter stating that I have 30 days to port my number to another carrier. Can anyone comfirm this? I have the unlimited plan with unlimited tethering... Has anyone had their account cancelled for data useage? Not rumors I mean actually have personal knowledge of this happening... Thanks

Promotions were coincidental as far as when they stopped. VZW saw the opportunity to make some extra cash so that is why we are in this proverbial boat we are in now. Eventually all carriers will do it or the competition gets so great that they all go back to "unlimited" which is like a "not"
