Verizon CTO Indicates Working Through LTE Tech Issues with 4G and TBolt

Does this mean the Thunderbolt isn't coming out any soon?

If VZW is smart, yes...

Verizon is in a touch situation. They were smart enough to try and launch the Thunderbolt in February before all the 'super phones' came along but sadly the tech wouldn't allow it. So they either release it and deal with tons of bugs and in return, cause some pretty bad reviews and sells. Or they wait till it's truly ready and potentially lose sales due to lack of 4G phones after so long and having to go up against other phones.

I'm sure they'll figure it out one way or another. Till the second batch of dual core 4G phones come, I'll enjoy the Incredible 2. ;)

Incredible 2 will be a single core phone irc. Infact the only noted dual core htc device will not be on verizon. But the Incredible will have an upgraded processor and it will be faster and more efficient then that in the evo and the incredible.

The Thunderbolt will be released when it's ready. Verizon is already taking heat for the price and lack of 4G from the factory on the Xoom. They can't afford a class-action suit if/when the Thunderbolt drops and it has a 4-hour battery life on LTE.

Id still bet it will be released by March 31st. There are already forum members with demo phones.

I think they should at least release some 3g phones. Like they should go ahead and release the X2 and Incredible 2 so that way we don't have the oldest phones out. If they want tiered data pricing so bad they could just start doing it before the summer. I don't see how it can be that hard to implement.

It's not. They're just holding on to the unlimited to get as may iPhone sales in as possible before they go the AT&T route for data pricing.

I tried to tell everyone that it was issues with the LTE and I got fried by several people on here, when I defended myself I got suspended and I did it privately not openly on the forum. There is nobody on these forums that do anything but speculate from what they read! They cause more trouble for Verizon since many of these people are believed to be insiders! Please understand they are nothing but self important ......... Verizon has problems Big problems and there iss no guarentee about anything or date, there was several times they thought the engineering was fixed and they felt good and only were proven wrong. The Tbolt would have to back to HTC for a different radio aka 3G to release it now. They had Motorola put in the 3G before it shipped to them with a promise to the buyers that Moto will install the 4G for free later! lol... Fantasyland <otorola isn't going to pay Verizon will

Maybe it may not be vzw fault afterall.

The Samsung Stealth, the unnamed Samsung 4G LTE phone seen at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this past Jan., has been caught in the wild. While at the show, Samsung had no name for its new 4G LTE phone, but as we learned in the past few days, it cleared the FCC with the name Samsung Stealth, passing the final regulatory hurdle before release.
A trusted anonymous tipster spoke with us at length about the device and provided some insight into what was known as the Samsung SCH-i510. Confirming that the name will indeed be the rumored “Samsung Stealth”, they sent along some photos that show this new phone in the wild as you can see to the right and in the gallery below.
Right now the handset is targeted for a mid-April release as opposed to the middle of the year we kept hearing about at CES. The phone in the pictures is running Android LauncherPro simply because the tipster likes the looks better, but the final release of the phone will have the usual Samsung TouchWiz interface. The phone will be upgradeable at some point in the future past 2.2 Froyo, but they had no information on when the first update would happen.
The most promising tidbit to come from our tipster is that it appears the phone will enjoy the same massive speeds we’ve seen from the Verizon 4G LTE data cards with no plans of throttling it on the phones. Meaning this phone is going to be insanely fast when you’re in a LTE area.
Speaking to the battery, a major concern on 4G LTE devices, the tipster said that the 1500 mAh battery was giving him a full day (8 – 10 hours) with no issues. Seeing as other phones have had huge battery issues when it came to 4G speeds, this is a vast improvement.
You can see more images in the gallery below, but this is definitely a sleek looking phone, and with LTE speeds, it’s just going to be blazing fast. The only potential drawback may be hitting your data limits in just a few days if you aren’t careful.

So either htc is having problems or vzw is playing games with the people. If HTC is saying they are ready to go and vzw is saying its a problem with LTE...sounds like someone needs to get their story straight.

Could it be something related to SVDO? Maybe that's causing the battery drain or something along those lines. Only differences in radio as far as I can tell.

I've been waiting for this phone since NOVEMBER!

Do I really have to get a DX now? My OG droid is falling apart!
