Verizon just pushed ICS 6.16.217 to my Droid 4

Us D4 owners are surprised ICS is being pushed with hardly any fanfare (unlike the Razr which had an update saying you will get an update soon). Maybe they (Moto & Big Red) learned their lesson and you guys may get it soon too.

Add me to the list. I was surprised to see the notification on my D4 at work, installed it and so far, so good. I wasn't signed up for a soak test, unless I signed up for something much earlier for something else...

My wife got it today and she was absolutely not part of the soak group.

Well, I got the update today at work, I downloaded and chose to install later because I wanted to unroot before the install. I didn't have any ROMs or MODs and I wasn't sure if I needed to clean out anything like apps that require root or do a factory data reset. When I got home I briefly looked around the internet for install instructions and a few had stated that as long as you had not removed any factory apps you could install the update without unrooting. That's exactly what I did too, no clean up, no unroot, just install. After the install my phone was acting crazy, apps were not responding or I would press on a app and then another app would open, but I'm sure someone said it takes a while for the phone to index and update after the install (30 - 45 minuters for me). Now it's running very smooth and I have no problems. Now my tips are make sure to update your computer's Motocast and USB drivers, grab the Razor's Edge root exploit and install FoxFi with the add-on. Here is a screen shot of my ICS Droid 4 with FoxFi, I really wanted to make sure I could get wifi tether back, so now I can take my Nexus 7 with me to work and surf, oh yeah:biggrin:.

Okay, so I deleted factory Swipe to be able to replace it with something that supports my language (Polish Swype Beta). What nao? Halp.

Im getting it right now and it looks like the dl will take at least 2 or more hours. I toggled to airplane mode and then turned on wifi and checked system updates and it prompted me to dl it. Wifi at my hotel is slow so i turned on my tablet hotspot. Will update in a few hours with some screen shots .
