Verizon Just Rolled Out LTE Advanced Nationwide! Are You Seeing The Speed Increase?

Yeah. I saw this on Twitter and got curious, so I ran SpeedTest at my house. Not even 5mbps. Worst speeds I've ever seen here. Usually around 17 or so. I was back and forth with them on Twitter and ended up running more tests around town to see just how inconsistent they really are. Crazy what difference a block or two makes.

Anyway, when I got back home, I ran another one and it was back to where I'm used to seeing. Not that I care THAT much about speeds at my house, since I get 40+ down through Charter, but if/when that goes out, it's nice to still have speed.

Also, I doubt my Nexus 6P will ever be on their list of supported devices.

Customers will continue to enjoy typical download speeds of 5 – 12 Mbps, but two-channel carrier aggregation has shown peak download speeds of up to 225 Mbps, far exceeding the current speeds being experienced by wireless data networks nationwide.
225 Mbps? I wish.

Good to know. Doesn't mean VZW will let us play. According to the info on the roll-out, my town is on the list where it's been deployed. Couldn't believe it when I saw it, but it's on there.

No sign of speeds being any better than they were previously.

Edit: I take that back. I did hit like 30mbps on some blocks. That's better than I've seen at home or work.

Please Please..... Sprint, AT&T - Get going so WE ALL have multiple choices. When VZW finally sees competition in the market place everywhere overall service levels (the service that counts) will rise. Until then Verizon will continue to treat customers the way they do now - like they are optional.
Anyone who has ever had a real problem with Verizon will attest to they will be nice - to a point and then it drops away real quick.

I get horrible speeds at work and home. I get great speeds while driving between the two...Thanks Verizon. TMO at home was 50 to 70Mbps during my testing.

I just downloaded the app used in the Verizon video ad (Simple Speed Test) and compared it to OOKLA.

Simple Speed Test - Down: 44.10 / Up: 15.39
OOKLA Speed Test - Down: 47.85 / Up: 17.66

Pretty close to each other, but not the blazing new speeds that Verizon demonstrated in their Ad.

Definitely faster. Was usually getting around 15down/5up before. I am in the Detroit Metro area.

Yup we got it. In a basement of a hospital with lead reinforced walls where I hardly get signal these are the speeds I get.

If I go outside it's about 80+mbps down.

Interesting that they roll this out the same day that the axe was/is to fall on Unlimited abusers. (Try as I might, I just don't believe in coincidence) I live in a rural area so am not expecting any performance increase any time soon. Recently, at home, I have been dropping LTE routinely. Verizon finally agreed that there was a problem on my local tower. On another note, my speeds at the office were, for me, amazing. I was seeing high 50s and low 60s mbps. Today the best I could get was 26mbps down.
