Verizon network STILL dropping

Wouldn't do that if they paid me. 21 months from now LTE will be worked out and stable.

My bills were always right, the customer service people actually did what they want, my internet was slow but at least it worked. It didn't take over 20 hours of me dealing with them to get my phones to work either. I could upgrade to a new iphone every 12 months with AT&T.

Here is a summary of my experience with Verizon so far.

Verizon Store (non-company) 30 minutes - prices were much higher than Verizon
Verizon Store (company) 40 minutes - no service from employees
Best Buy - 5 1/2 hours trying to get new phones and service activated
Verizon phone call - 1 1/2 hours getting my droid activated
Best Buy - 1 1/2 hours getting data transfered from iphone to droid
Verizon phone call -2 hours trying to get wife's Samsung u370 activated (still not complete)
Best Buy - 3 hours attempting to get wife's phone activated, no success
Best Buy - 30 minutes picking up activated phone
Verizon - 1 hour trying to get phone to text photo's - unsuccessful

In the past month there have been three network outages (including this one).

All of my bills have been 2 - 3 times more than they are supposed to be. Have to contact a manager every month and have them fixed after the regular reps won't do anything for me. I still have not received a correct bill.

Please explain why I should be a loyal Verizon customer after all that they have put me through?

I wonder how much is location. In San Diego, CA, 4G is rock solid (once I leave the house); good enough to stream a movie via Netflix onto my parent's TV.

I'm on .901, but 4G has been like that since I got the phone in September.

Well...

I'm no lawyer but if you are hell-bent on leaving VZ (and based on what you've stated can't say I blame you) -- I would imagine you have a "breach of contract" situation (failure to deliver the contracted service (or a reasonable level of service) at the contracted price. I would call and escalate and if they push back tell them you wish to take it to arbitration via their policy. They''ll likely give you what you want.

Yeah I've gotten down to 1x today and having trouble connecting to even that.. Tacoma, WA and I'm glad to see it's not my phone because I was about to call for a replacement.

Problem I think I will run into is them letting me out with my phone but the other three phones I pay for (wife and my parents) won't be able to get out of the contract.

I just know that I have had nothing but headaches since switching from AT&T. Granted the internet was much slower with AT&t, but at least it was reliably crappy. I had them for around 15 years, only reason I changed was for the 4g and now that I have it I never know if it is going to work or not. Then, when it goes out I end up turning my phone off and back on 10 times thinking it is my phone.

I must say though, when my phone is working properly it is amazing and it will be hard to go back to 3g.

Weird, the outage must only be in certain geographical locations today, not nationwide. Western PA here and I've had 4G all day and am on it right now.

Your CS experiences are horrible, and at least for me, are not representative of the experiences I've had with VZW reps. But the data issues, both with the bionic and the network have been well known for quite a while now. Nothing that you couldn't find out with 5 minutes on google, so although I feel for you on the CS side of things, you should have known what you were getting into on the data side of things.

Hold faith though, LTE will get figured out and when it does it's gonna be great!

Just got off the phone with vzw, got 50% off my bill yippie.:frown: They are still claiming a nationwide outage not sure when they are going to fix it or not. I will call them back in a few days and get the rest of the month fixed. The lady was very pleasant so I was nice to her as well. I never try to give them a hard time it is not really their fault.

Must be nice, I just got off the phone with them. They are giving me a credit for $3, in other words, $1 for each day of service outage.

The lady was very nice though even though she had to check around to see if there really had been three outages this month. :D

You got 50% off because of the network failure?

I lost my 3g yesterday. 4g still worked fine. Called vz and they said there were no network issues. They had me do a hard reset. Still no 3g and they are shipping me a new phone. About an hour ago the 3g started working. Frustrating.

4G out in the Dallas, TX area. 3G comes and goes. Good thing I use WiFi at home and work. :/

Fortunately it's a company issued phone and my company pays for the "unlimited" data plan (unlimited as long as you can connect to it, that is) -- otherwise I'd be really P/O'ed.
