Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 Waiting Room

Gonna have a rush at your house? :D
Well I have to go in to the Verizon store to swap the phone from the line I used to upgrade it to my line, so I don't lose my unlimited. I would have done it myself but they have to give me a SIM card for my number. So I wanna go and get it done before they get busy.

You may have noticed at the bottom where it says "Future delivery requested". Basically VZW wanted to ship them early, but asked FedEx to hold them until closer to the pre-order date.

Mine has the same thing with a delivery date of Wed/ but has the same future delivery requested...

My newest updates.

I would be curious to know how many of you that have had pre-orders have the following part on your shipping list: Gemalto 4G NFC SIM Card

I'm not surprised that they are shipping SIM's, since they are required, but I am surprised that they are NFC Sims. For those that don't know, NFC Sims are required to do NFC payments through VZWs payment app. They may be getting ready to roll Isis. Ill investigate.

I do. I got a "your current Sim Card isn't compatible with this device" message when I pre-ordered. It asked me if I'd like to add one to my order, and confirmed there'd be no charge.

I didn't think much of it until I saw "NFC" on the shipping email. I thought maybe NFC devices just required a different type.

Nope, NFC devices only require an NFC Sim if you plan to use Isis.

If my package originated in Pennsylvania, and is being delivered to Connecticut, why the **** is it currently hanging out in Memphis Tennessee? I could have had it today if they just drove it over. -_-

FedEx almost always sends their packages through Memphis. After working for a company that ships via FedEx for six years, I've come to notice that unless that package is staying in-state, there's a pretty good chance it's going to be routed to Memphis before being sent to it's final destination. That's FedEx's primary hub. I've asked drivers several times and they said that the company's official stance on it is that it "helps reduce the number of lost packages". I would imagine it costs them a lot of money, but who knows.

For the record, mine is in the same boat. Shipped from Pennsylvania, coming to Maine, currently sitting in Memphis.
