Verizon strikes deal with NFL to broadcast Live games!!

Check this article. Doesn't look like they will be showing every game like Sunday Ticket. Looks like you get NFL Red Zone which shows live snippets of games along with the Sunday night and Thursday night games. Also says you can listen to live radio broadcasts of any game. All in all, still very cool.

NFL Mobile Kicks Off With Verizon Wireless in April

If this is true it won't be worth it for me... I'll still have to go to the local bar to watch my Lions lose... Oh well, its an excuse to go get drunk :)

Yep, I'm in the same boat. Using my phone to watch football would be a last resort. I was lucky to get a majority of the Dolphins' games on TV last year but each time they weren't it was off to Buffalo Wild Wings.

What I don't get is why Verizon FIOS can't get something worked out with DirecTV and the NFL. Verizon promotes DirecTV on the their website where FIOS isn't available. Oh well, maybe someday.

same here...unless it's free :) but it's a good selling point for VZ those. "The only network that you can watch football live"

no more paying directv 79.99 for 5 months for the directv supercast mobile broadcast. Though it was nice it is even nicer to be able to listen to the game and keep that money in my pocket

I would pay Sunday Ticket prices if I could get every game, or really just my team. A little wireless tether to my playstation to the big screen and MONEY!

But honestly this deal is shocking. I can't imagine they will come close to generating the revenues to justify $700M over 4 years, certainly not by offering something I already get with my cable on NFL Network.

the sad thing is I paid all that money for the directv subscription and it did not show playoff games. I was able to listen to all the playoff games on moodio.fm. So even if the nfl thing is just for vcast users (which last I checked was not on the droid) I still have moodio.

<snip> certainly not by offering something I already get with my cable on NFL Network.

Some of us are stuck with TimeWarner and their little p*****g contest with NFL network and don't get the Thursday games. I'm definately going to give this a try!

I just want an easy solution to watch ALL sports on the Droid when I need to. I am a coach and in season I am always on the road. Would be nice to catch games.

What we really need is a Ulti-Fan Mobile Network. College FB, NFL, NBA, NCCABB and maybe Hockey. Heck, throw in Nascar too. Don't care about baseball, that would be a waste of resources. Then work in a Sports News concept to keep us up to date and sell ad space.

With ad revenue and a $5.00 per month subscription, it would be bank.

My condolonces. When I bought a new house a few years ago, one of the important things that I would not budge on was the ability to have Directv. I called Directv and had them scope out the area before I made the offer on the home.

I refused to be stuck with Time Warner and their constantly higher prices.

I had our local cable company for its bundle package, but I found that they was charging me more money for less channels; and they did not offer nfl network. I kept the internet but switched to directv. I must admit that at times when it rain real hard it does go out, but its rare. Other then that I am happy wit directv. The deciding factor between dish and directv was nfl sunday ticket.

Would it be possible to stream the footage from my droid to my laptop, or will this stuff be something like if I have it on my droid I can also have it on my computer without paying more fees?

I guarantee you that this, like vcast, will not be available for android. I hope I get proved wrong but I'm not getting my hopes up.
