Verizon Wireless Brings 4G Lte to More Than 145 Markets by the End Of 2011

No Va love? wtf mate?

My thoughts exactly. I live in Richmond, 1 million people metro total area... nothing... ???

It's like they skipped this whole state on purpose. Really sucks. I live an hour away from Richmond and would be willing to visit more often if there was LTE there. Not even Virginia Beach. Major tourist place and nada...

Yeah I lived in VA beach for 6 years I figured Hampton Roads would be one of the first areas after the initial launch to get lte. Now I live in tiny Hampton Falls, NH, how long till all 1900 of us here get 4g, haha. But I do live fairly close to Boston, only about 40 miles maybe I will get lucky and they expand from Boston sooner that I expect.

Before Binghamton too. It's called Cornell University - population 21,000 + 100,000 for Ithaca metro area.

That still doesn't come close to the city of Buffalo. The metro area alone is close to 1.2 million. Yet Rochester, Syracuse, Ithica and Albany get 4g first? NYC is the only city with a higher metro population than Buffalo in the state.

Sorry for my rant but I'm really disappointed.

I understand what you're saying. One would think that Buffalo would get it before Ithaca, but I think that it all centers around Cornell. I think it is the prestige of Cornell that is the reason. Of course, Buffalo is a NFL city. I could say something about the team, but I will refrain. :):icon_evil: Go Steelers.

Buffalo is only half of an NFL city... The Bills play half of their games in Toronto.

I'm in Va Beach and I'm pretty butt-hurt by this. Southeast Va is like a metro area of its own. 7 cities side by side and nothing at all......

4G will be here! (where I live) I thought for sure we'd be waiting at least til next year!

Good news!

Great job Verizon, just skip over NJ...the most densely populated state in the country. Not to mention the huge amounts of people that flock here in the summer time.

I wish I knew the logic behind the choice of cities they choose to upgrade to 4G.
I live in the Providence RI metro area and we are nowhere on the list but every metro area surrounding Providence either has 4G already or is on the new list to get it by years end.

What gives Verizon?

It was the same with 3G. There were towers near towns of 500 people 2 years before a city with a metro population of 280,000 got it. Now that city is getting LTE early this year, less than 2 years since it got 3G. I had 3G here 5 years ago, but won't get LTE until 2012. There is no point in complaining. We will get when we get it.

Im about 40 miles east of Syracuse in Utica, NY...

What are the chances that the Syracuse bands will reach me??

Cincy I'm wondering the same thing, what is the range on these bands?

I think RI is the most densely populated. But I guess Verizon wants you to move to NY. Don't complain though, there are still people without 3g.

I had a rep at a Verizon store tell me that LTE for Indiana will start construction in May with a target completion date of August. dancedroid If you are within 12 miles of Interstate 65 you will supposedly be in the 4G LTE coverage area. I'm not gonna hold my breath though.
