Video calling

I want an app that let's me video call with other phones. but my main question is does the phone your video calling with have to have the same app you do or do they just need a video calling app?

You both need the same app. I've had success calling pad and phone video with Skype

yeah i figured you'd both need tango or something similar kinda disappointing. i'll just use skype probably I assume that would work the best since most people have skype rather than tango. thanks for the input

I use skype if I want higher video quality and gtalk for "ok" quality
