@ Goingnorth(OP) and wheelspinner: Sorry, but doing a FDR didn't help, nor did Safe Mode.:angry: Tried it with a completely reset phone (3 fdr's on .211 and 1 fdr on .215) before any apps and/or data other than "people" data being restored from VZW backup+. Will keep an eye out on the forum if anyone experiences this and finds a solution. Now time to reload everything, at least have the Olympics to watch while doing it. A BIG thanks to Sydman for the help/educaton!!:biggrin:

Bad news is I'm on 3rd FDR, no improvement on voice call, voice text, or voice e-mail. Still doing what I showed a screen shot of in previous post. Didn't .211 get rid or favorite tiles and go to star system? I now have the favorite tiles on top of homepage like GB had. ABOUT says it is .211, build date jun 14. Does this sound right?:blink:

Ics still has those favorite tiles, you are OK there. Sorry it is still not working though I am not sure why. How is the phone running besides that?

Phone has always ran fine, ergo no FDR in the 1/2 yr I've had it. Has an annoying audible click now when I push the power button, do swipes, etc...Not there before or I shut it off somehow when I first got the phone and don't remember:biggrin: Sounds like half the sound you get for shutter when taking a screenshot. Still almost virgin, only app reinstalled is SMS Backup + to restore e-mails, texts,...

Still plan to root once I have my confidence level where I feel it should be (= a bunch more reading).

@Goingnorth(OP) & Wheelspinner20: I did find a workaround this morning. You can drag Voice Commands App from app drawer to home page and use this for every thing the moto hard key isn't doing. Not the answer I was looking for, I am a bit hardheaded in that if the key is there, it should work as advertised, even if I never use it!:biggrin:

Thanks for all the info, I did not try a factory reset yet and I did add the voice comand app to my homepage. Mine does the same as others said that it will put the right name for email or texting but not put in the "TO" spot but put it in the subject spot.

I moved all my apps to my sd card, will that also move cache'd stuff there as well or will that stuff be lost in a FDR. as I said I don't want to lose any points in my games but will if it fixes the issue. This is my first smartphone so I don't plan on doing anything other than stock stuff, no hacking anything.

Sorry I couldn't report back with a success story. I hope the FDR, if you choose to do so, has better results for you than it did for me. I am not sure about the exact mechanics of the file file system on the phone and what is safe and what is not from a FDR. Obviously if you put it on your ext sd card and then removed it before the FDR, it would be safe. I chose to reset everything in case the bug was hiding in one of the apps.

Something I found was very helpful was taking screen shots of all my apps and widgets in the app drawer (circle w/ dots in it on home screen) and the 5 homescreens. I put them in a folder and moved it to my PC. When I reloaded my apps and setup my screens, this made it very simple. Just pull up the photos and load the apps in the photos to make the app drawer appear as in the photos and arrange them on your home screens as they are in the photos.

Please let me know if the FDR helps if you choose to do one. Actually everyone here recommends 2 FDR's.
