Videos Not Playing on Computer

I have transferred a few videos from my HTC Droid DNA to my computer. The videos open in Windows Media Player, but I can only hear the audio...can't see the video. We had this problem when we first got these phones, and my husband was able to fix it...but he can't remember what he did. Our hard drive crashed a few months back and now I'm having the problem again. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

My suggestion, because Windows Media Player is so limited, by default is to download VLC player. You may like it better.

+1,000,000^ VLC will pretty much play anything. I don't think I've ever had a file that it won't play...
