voice announcement through bluetooth

for some reason i cant voice announcement to play through my headset
i can use the headset for calls and music but the voice announcements come trough the external speaker on the phone
its really strange it happens whether its a bluetooth headset or wired
am i missing something in settings? any help would be appreciated
