warranty phone shipped with gingerbread. root?

so i had my original droid x rooted and everything. but i got a new one because it had dots on the screen but the new one shipped with gingerbread. Is there any way for me to root it at the moment?

you'll have to sbf, root then the deodexed .596

SBF to 340 then root w/Z4 ..bootstrap with bootstrap 2 not x. Do the 2 part flash to rooted GB. Download the liberty toolbox pro. Follow the directions exactly for liberty .08...wipe as instructed. I just did the same thing for the same reason

it could be a long time before the ota exposes another exploit to allow rooting... a dev could possibly find one 5 minutes from now, but you'll probably be more constructive and happier if you just sbf now.
