watching video clips in websites

Chrome does NOT support Flash Player at all. Something is missing from your explanation.
I assure you, I know what I'm seeing. I used to be able to watch embedded videos in Chrome. Maybe none of them were flash, but now, even YouTube videos don't want to play in Chrome.

Sources include the verge (those still seem to play from what I can see), droid life & other android related sites, team coco for clips from the Conan show (these had no problem playing, but wouldn't go properly into full screen mode).

I've never had flash installed on this phone & have been using Chrome since my previous phone. Not sure when the last chrome update came out, but like I said, I swear this has started well after the last update I'm aware of. Maybe I missed one, but I'm an IT Director. I know what flash is & that I don't have it, but I never have & the fact that the YouTube video on droid life wouldn't play today leads me to believe that it's not a flash problem.

I like chrome. I've tried dolphin multiple times throughout the years & it never stuck. I'm willing to install it & flash again to test your theory, but I'm not the only one experiencing this issue & I know what I'm doing.

Not trying to be a jerk, just frustrated with this issue.

I just checked my Chrome and embedded YouTube videos aren't working for me either. I then checked my Dolphin browser (my go to for all video types) and they aren't playing there either. Strange.

Thanks! This helps to know. Not that it tells us anything specific, but very interesting. Someone somewhere has changed something in the background, but what/where/why?

I checked chrome in the play store. It last updated about a month ago & I've only noticed this issue in the last couple weeks & had the same results with the stock browser, as I previously stated, but it's good to know even a browser that supports flash is having issues.

Doing a bit of testing, I tried Dolphin, UC, Firefox, Opera and Puffin. The first four didn't work. Puffin worked but initially the video clip comes up blank but when you click on it, it plays the clip.
