Does anyone know of a .wav player for android? I get my cable phone voice mails sent to my email. When I try to open the message which is in .wav format I get the unsupported error. I have tried Rockplayer and the system player with no luck.

Ok - took a chance and downloaded wavplayer for 99¢. It works with K9 mail when I get my voicemail from Cablevision Voice which comes in .wav format.

Use not the stock music app that your phone came with, but Google Play Music, from the market. Just tested it with a wav I just downloaded and it worked.
I use the app for my whole music collection too! 10 thousand songs streaming over 4g. Makes it super easy to buy new music from the play store too.

The latest Google Music does not play the .wav files from my voicemail system.
