The thing that always messed me up was that it's really called iLightr, without the "e". So when I searched, I couldn't find it. Talk about a delightful waste of a dollar.
Both of the bar code scanner apps I've used so far on the Droid work pretty well. The one that comes with the phone (Barcode Scanner) handles 2-D patterns but it's search is not as nice as the ShopSavvy app. I use ShopSavvy all the time - gives you prices from the web for products, books (ISBN), etc. It also has price alert capability, although I've never tried that one all the way. The setup asks you to scan an item and alert (email) you when the price drops below that.
I'm a fan of the game Fling! from the Apple App Store... My girlfriend has it on her iPod Touch and I steal it form her whenever we're both in town at the same time. Would love to have it on Android
I want an app that allows me to post my status to both twitter and fb at the same time. I know, I'm an addict, but I've been waiting for a BB app to do that, and there aren't any!
I want an android version of the iphone new york times app. Previous unofficial version by mgeek was pulled (per mgeek). I emailed the new york times and they say they are working on an official app but don't have a specific timeline
I really don't know what is in the apple app store not ever having used an iphone. I know my daughter and her husband play that airplane landing game a lot. That seems pretty useless, but intriguing.
BeeJiveIM - When I had an iPhone, this was the ONLY app I would pay for. It was $12.99 at the time and it was the best instant messenger app. Why? It keeps you logged into their servers when you're exited of the chat and did push notification of new instant messages.
I'd really like to see the "i am t-pain" app in the market. its an app that lets you record and autotune, just like every single song t-pain made lol, sounds pretty cool though
I'm looking forward to What's On from napkin studio Napkin Studio / Developers of "What's On?". It's by far the best tv guide app on my ipod. I emailed them and within a couple of hours they responded by saying they will have something for the droid soon. All the tv apps in the market suck.
Lurkin...your psychological need is much harder to satisfy compared to your physical need. For one because the minds of individuals have become weaker, by buying into an illusion that the physical and empirical world hold the solutions to our problems. In return humans have lost the ability to take control of their mind and thought process.

I've not used the one for iPhone so I'm not sure how it works. That said, there is an app called "Newspapers Full" by Dale Jefferson that may fit your needs. The full version cost 0.99UKP/$150 or so. The difference between the free regular version and the full version is that Full lets you setup a list of favorites from amongst the 66US, 19Ca, and 11UK papers. Mine has the NYT, Washington Post, Financial Times, CCN, Reuters, and the San Jose Mercury News, for its Silicone Vally reporting, as my favorites.
