I reset my phone this morning and this symbol came up. It is next to 3G symbol at the top and it looks like a gray disc with two green curvey bars coming out of it.

Holy Crap! Go into Menu>Settings>Location and Security and un-check the use GPS satellites right now! If they get a fix on you, you are TOAST! :icon_ devil:
Actually, it just burns battery much faster and you only need it for location based services like maps etc. If you need to keep your phone running all day, disable all the radio and gps services when you are not using them or it will be DEAD by early afternoon.:icon_eek:

This....isn't true. It only accesses GPS when a program calls upon it, like Google Navigation or voice-searching a local business. If the symbol isn't in the top bar (but it's turned on), then it isn't being used.
