my notification when card is prepared is checked...when I boot up it does some digital phone type ring. doesn't say droid anymore as it use to. my current default notification isn't the digital phone ring either.

Yeah that is exactly the problem and sound I had..

Go through the menu's and unmount the sd card, then reboot your phone, That is what fixed mine, I got the Droooooid back on power up when the sd card is found after doing that :icon_ banana::icon_ banana:

Come to think of it, as many of these phones as I've activated, I don't remember hearing it on any of them

Didn't fix mine.. but i've got my default sd notification or default sound set to a custom sound.... as long as its set to a custom sound, it digitally rings... If I set it to one of the stock sounds.. no problem.
