What is Ice cream sandwich?

Yeah, if you eliminate trademarked names, you are pretty much left with Kiwi or Key Lime Pie.... or something not English.

I don't really think of kiwi as desert though I'd be shocked if it's not key Lime Pie

If I was Google I would name it something else just because everyone is guessing it will be that. But that's just me.

I guess but they don't really have that many options with this release that's kind of the only desert with a k

And next will be jelly bean the first two versions never had an official codename

I have just assumed that

A = Android, or Alpha
B = Beta
C = Cupcake...etc.

That would be the only reason that I can think of that would justify starting an alphabetical list at C.

I was actually thinking about this the other day and according to Wiki (which I don't always trust 100%) Alpha and Beta were not the same as the first and second release versions:

The pre-release versions of Android were dubbed Astro and Bender, but these names could not ultimately be used for trademark reasons.

The Android beta was released on 5 November 2007, while the software developer's kit (SDK) was released on 12 November 2007.

Android 1.0, the first commercial version of the software, was released on 23 September 2008. The first Android device, the HTC Dream (G1),

On 9 February 2009, the Android 1.1 update was released, initially for the T-Mobile G1 only.
So I gathered from all of this that the Beta (Bender) came out first in 07, then 1.0 came out in 2008, 1.1 in the beginning of 2009, and so on from there.

Good thing this thread got hijacked. The OP needs to do some reading before posting.

I think Key Lime Pie is going to be it. It's the most feasible one that Google won't get sued for;)
