I just got a Droid X and noticed the little round open port on the top of the phone. What is it?

(please say external antenna port)

lol.. im thinking scoder said microphone cuz he didnt think Neufusion would seriously ask that but since he is saying "port", its a headphone jack to plug your headphone in :)

It's for awesome! But really can you send a pic? I think we are all confused.

LOL my bad. Can't wait for the flames to roll in now. =]

I think I wanted it to be an external antenna jack so bad that I refused to recognize the obvious.

It's ok. But MOTO likes to put external antenna jacks under the batt door.
You just got to drill a hole in the door to get to it.
Wish I had my Droid handy do I can show you.

I remember the days of my Motorola E815... The antenna didn't need to be extended, but if you did you got an extra 1-2 bars. They even had aftermarket antennas that would extend 3-5". We've really screwed ourselves with our obsession for non-visible antennas (see iphone 4) . I want a phone with no visible antenna but a huge 3" antenna that can be pulled out when the signal is low.

The jack is for wired headphones.....which have to be plugged in for reception for the built in FM Tuner....I use it for local radio stations. I hope thats what you are talking about
