What is the origin of your forum name?

Mine is my nickname for 30+ years (I know, I'm an old man...)

right, THE drJ had already been retired for a while 30 years ago, the actual nickname I've had for 54 years is sputnik, it launched the month I was born and that's what my dad called me (just my brother now, parents are both gone)

Mhm. When I see people at school with droids and i ask them if they've rooted and they usually say something like "is that a game" or "how much does that cost"

You sound a lot like my kids were, both of them compiled a kernel and installed linux at single digit ages, I mean I did read them the hardware specs, but still, 10 year olds running linux rocks, or 16 year olds rooting phones and flashing roms

Mine is an old name I came up with 20 years ago at a Session of DnD, (Thats Dungeons and Dragons for you younger folk, you played with pen and paper and imagination)

It just stayed with me forever

That's AWESOME! Getting the kids familiar with Linux early. I liked it only because I couldn't find the love button. Linux is going to take over one day.

I was in tech support when they were small, figured it was the very least I needed to teach them. My son built a dec alpha debian box when he was 12 (20 now). I think his latest project is an old silicon graphics quad xeon workstation (he loves that old crap that was around the office when he would go play quake with us when he was little). Wife and I run XP pro SP3 with the rainmeter shell replacing the windows front end and an app launcher called launchy, no task bar, very linux-ey for me and she still knows how to work it.

With regards to hyosung, how can you not love a company whose primary focus is sportbikes that chooses to bet the farm on Vtwins exclusively? I mean mighty honda got motivated to build the CBR 250 mainly because of the hyosung GT250R and the play it's been getting in metro markets around the world.
