What is this icon?

actually, it's the E911 icon.

The wave coming out means you have location services on. If you turn off location services, just the wave would disappear but the icon would remain.
 
Ahh okay thanks Dezy. I don't have one on my note 2, I don't remember if it was in touchwiz.

I wonder why they have it there and it's not found in their manual, quite irritating. Took me a long time to figure it out too.

I didnt have to disable it, beans just omitted it the icon completely.

It's funny, people have been complaining about that icon for a while. I just realized its not on the Note 3 at all. Guess Samsung listened.
