What smart actions do you have set?

The phone uses the wireless network plus wifi to generate a fix on your location. I guess it doesn't want to use the GPS to fix the location. so it cannot shot off wireless or wifi and still keep the location trigger.

When i have my trigger location set for my house and the action to turn off gps sometimes when i leave my house it doesnt turn back on. Is anyone else having this problem? I have tried my work and sometimes it does it too

Since the smart action is using the 3g/4g and/or wifi, perhaps its location fix is not as accurate. Thus you may need to move significantly far away from home to undue the trigger. The location fix may be more of an estimation verses an exact coordinate that GPS can obtain.

If you have GPS turned off and are out of wireless range, how would it know your location ? i.e. leaving your house.

I'll try and see if that works. Maybe ill need to move farther down the block. Is there a way to make the location fix more accurate? My droid x had the calibrate compass but the razr doesnt have that feature

I set it up where the cellular data stays off when my screen is off, but still turns on for 15 min every 4 hours so it can briefly sync and grab emails. I do this by creating blocks of time (military time) 0815 to 1200, 1215 to 1600, 1615 to 2000, and so on. I just label them as time slot a, b, c, and so forth. Then I add all those time slots to my triggers along with display off, and set action to turn off cellular data, turn off wifi, turn off GPS. Now my radios stay off when my phone screen is off, except turning on for short periods every 4 hours to grab my email. But I can still receive calls and texts anytime.

i'm doing this and wow amazing battery life now :)
90% after 5 hours with regular use (internet, txting, etc)

this is really the key to the best battery life on the razr

open up smart actions and create the following:

Triggers:
Display Off

Actions:
Cellular data Disabled
GPS off
Background sync off

You will still be able to receive calls and txt. It's 4g that really runs this battery down, so turning it off when ur not using the phone increases it very high :) I'm very happy now

I also have this one

Trigger:
WIFI

Action:
Cellular data disabled

Can you post a screenshot or details on what triggers and actions you used for this with the military time and everything?

Can you post a screenshot or details on what triggers and actions you used for this with the military time and everything?

Open up Smart Actions app.
Tap your menu button.
Select My Profile.
Select Timeframes.
On the upper right of this screen, hit the green plus symbol to add your custom timeframes.
Give each an arbitrary name, like A, B, C, or Time 1, Time 2, etc.
Set your time frames up in 4 be segments. Like 8:15 am to 12 noon for timeframe named "a". 12:15 pm to 4 pm for timeframe named "b". And so forth.

Now you have customized your time framed. The reason for this is to allow your cellular data to come on for brief periods of time even when the screen is off, to grab emails and do other background data for only a short time.

Now create your own smart action from scratch:

TRIGGERS:
Display off.
Timeframes A or B or C or (include all the custom time frames you just created).

ACTIONS:
Cellular data disable
GPS off
WiFi off

Thanks i appreciate it. I ended up playing around and putting
Triggers:
Display Off
Not Charging
No Movement(motion detector)

Actions:
GPS off
Wifi off

which should greatly help hopefully

I am still getting my battery life drained from 3-6 hours. I don't mind it at all. But sometimes I have to charge two or three times a day which for me isn't good somedays. I have mine set pretty much like everyone else, except the cellular data off. It sometimes doesn't turn back on when I have it set like that while display is off. Any help?

I turn off my 4g/lte when im driving or not browsing the internet or market. I only have data connection off for certain settings like while I'm are work. Otherwise you can't receive MMS messages I've heard

1. What screen brightness do you set yours to? Screen timeout setting?
2. Are you using a task killer app, including the one preinstalled on the phone?
3. Do you have 4g turned on, or are you using 3g?
4. If 4g, does your phone keep switching back and forth between 3g and 4g (does your phone have to search a lot for the 4g signal)?
5. Do you have any social media services constantly pushing updates to your phone?
