Where are homescreen folders stored?

Hey Droid Community,

I have a Motorola Droid rooted ( Ultimate Droid ). My question is: Where does the Droid store "Folders" that are placed on the home screen? I would like to back these up before updating my ROM. I would then copy them back into place after my UD ROM update. This would be a lot easier and quicker than having to manual re-created folders and populate them again with apps.

I think it's all in the home.apk/launcher.apk etc..

Where is the home.apk

Is it possible to find the folder while accessing my phone via my laptop and then insert files into the folder that way?
