I had a Dec 25th upgrade date. I called VZW on the 28th of this month and asked if I could do an early upgrade. They at first said, "sorry, we cant do that, you're not within 30 days." I then asked if when the Droid came out if I could forgo any new-in-2 discounts and just resign a new contract. After a brief hold he came back with "We've reviewed your account and we've decided you ARE eligible for an upgrade." I've been with VZW for about 10 years. I could get a $50 NI2 discount, but I've preorderd at BB in Williston, VT and I have a 10am appointment on the 6th to pick it up. I even get to miss a semi-important all-staff meeting at work to do it.
I'm going to try and get my boss to authorize an order of 1 or 2 of them through our corporate account. If we can get the discounted pricing, I may be able to just reimburse my work and get them without an upgrade, since the phones come unattached to a plan, I can just call up verizon and tell them to activate it on my plan.

Yea, I'm in Middlesex County and the mall is on my way home. Where are u heading to get urs?
Well, I'm probably not going to end up getting one, but I would head to the store on Route 17 or maybe Route 4. The closest one to me is at the Palisades mall in West Nyack, NY, but that store is tiny and always jam packed.

Me, well on Nov 6th, I intend to brave the horrible winter weather of South Fla. Standing outside my local Verizon store in Coral Springs, dealing with the frigid temps we all have become accustomed to here. I know, it's going to be tuff, it's going to be uncomfortable, but I will have to muttle through it all with my DD Coffee in hand. The things we endure to get our newest tech devices is sometimes unbearable 
Now if I can get my Lady to take our kid to school that morning, I should be able to be there bright and early. Wonder if they are going to play the Number Tag game again with the security officer handing them out

I will be in line at the Verizon Wireless store near the Portland Airport. I made the call the other day to that store and happened to be speaking to the store manager. He said he will be calling me Thursday to give me any changes or updates to when they will be opening and that he will put my name down and hold one for me. I am super excited....
and I do not work on Friday, so I will have all weekend to play with my Droid.
