Which ROM is best?!?!

I love it. Best app ever!

Boot Manager

It is running nice, but maybe you can help me trouble shoot this problem...I'm on rom slot one and try to install a couple apps, but its telling my low memory and wont let me download anything. I still have like 3 gb on my sd. Any thoughts?

I was also going to ask you what version of darkslid you use and where do you find it?

What ROM are you running? Boot Manager basically partitions off part of your SD card for the system memory. So while you may have 3 gigs left on your card, check the system memory. I believe Boot Manager does 972 MB for the system. You can increase that via the app I think.

I am running Darkslide X which is based on .596. You can find it in the Darkslide ROM section here. Only thing is, I had to restore a nandroid of Darkslide for it to work ok because Boot Manager has trouble with installing some .596 ROMs.

I just looked through the app and didn't see anything about increasing the memory. Is there a GB version of Darkslide?

My phone ROM is CM74DX and in slot one it's the New Liberty for GB. So I wouldn't be able to just flash darkslid since I'm on .605 right?

Do you know what "VM Heap Size" is?

Darkslide X is GB, but some people, including myself, have had issues with it booting if you just install it. If you have a nandroid backup, you can restore the backup to a slot and it works perfectly.

Go to Boot Manager and go to the settings. Then select manually set variables. Change the system size. I guess it wont take effect unless you reinstall the ROM, I'm not sure. I havent had to use it.

This is another opinion thread, lol...but, I think if you want speed, customiziation, decent battery life and the latest of pure google....Go with Cm7! Or Liberty 3 is updated and I'm hearing good on it. Also, apex used to be on froyo, the best batt life. But not too much else....peace!

MIUI is by far the most complete and perfect ROM For the droid x. It has more polish in any other rom. it's the fastest rom by far with the possible exception of CyanogenMod. On the surface the rom looks kinda simple and elegant, but underneath you find a lot of work that has been done to make the overall phone experience feel more complete. If you haven't yet give it a try.

MIUI to me feels pretty complete also. Its like something that would come stock because it has so many features that just work. Settings is completely revamped. My favorite thing is the Music Player. Its amazing.

Ok...when I get home today, I will flash it..just haven't because boot manager is being a douche about it on slots..lol

Can you flash it over any 605/602 ROM or is there special conditions for MIUI?

Flash it over. 602 or. 605, doesn't matter. The latest stable version is 1.10.21 which you can get from ROM manager. It has so many features, like a new pre-boot custom recovery mode: simply press volume down when the phone's led turns blue and it will boot to a power menu allowing you to tweak. It's a 2nd init ROM, so no bootstrap.

Myself: I am running on the ICS-MIUI with the 4.0.1 framework.

You know, I haven't tried the music player because I switched over to Google Music Beta, but I bet it would be absolutely stellar =) I hope they add Google Music Support when they can.

Its the best one I have used. It also has a built in mp3 tag editor that actually sticks if you wipe data or change ROMs. In fact, I stayed on MIUI for a long time just because of the music player

Cm7 is good, SSx 2.2 is really good. Its like CM7 on steroids... im currently running Liquid Smooth 3.1 and i love it. The customization of it is really good and my battery lasts me all day with moderate use.
