Who else is upgrading to the RAZR from the OG Droid?

If the Bootloader were unlocked, I would be upgrading to this. But, seeing as how Moto doesnt care about my flashing fetish, I'll probably be scooping the Nexus!

My upgrade is due in February 2012, not sure about the non-removable battery. I will wait and see what is around when my contract is due for renewal. I have my eye on this phone though.
That's perfect timing IMHO. By then at least one retailer will have a huge sale on this phone

cant the bootloader be cracked?

i was probably going to grab this phone with the intention of flashing a rom that had ICS. is that impossible?

Like most others in this thread, it describes me perfectly as well. However, there is one thing that concerns me.

Is it true that our OG Droid will not be grandfathered with the same data charges if we upgrade to a 4G/LTE phone such as the RAZR? I really don't wanna spend more than 30 bucks for data if I don't need to and, if that's the case, I will just use my OG Droid til it stops working.

Yup, I'll be pre-ordering my RAZR as soon as we're allowed. Unremovable battery is not that big of a deal for me. I've yet to have to replace a battery since my Samsung 5yrs ago. And since I don't know what NFC is I'm guessing I don't miss it :)

The phone really doesn't look bad at all, but after seeing the Nexus, I'm really leaning away from the Razr. :( I love Moto products but the locked bootloader and non removable battery kill it for me.

How will the non removable battery work anyway? What happens if your phone locks up or if this thing gets rooted and rommed, what happens in a bootloop? Seems like a terrible idea and won't work with android. There would HAVE to be a reset button or something, right? Sorry if I sound stupid. Just don't know.

You make a good point, but again, many of the people that want this phone have no idea about the battery life on these 4G LTE phones. I just don't think it's going to be a good idea. Between that and the locked bootloader, there seems like two big negatives out of the box.

i finally picked up the bionic this passed weekend, but i will def be bringing it back before the 14 days and preordering the razr!...at least the best buy outlet were i picked up the bionic from doesnt charge restocking fees!!!...wooohooo

It shouldn't matter what your previous phone was if your plan doesn't change. If you're on Verizon's $30 data plan I don't think it will change with an LTE phone unless Verizon forces you to change your plan.

Also I am more excited for ice cream sandwich on the Galaxy Nexus than motoblur (razrblur, or whatever the hello they're calling it) on the Droid Razr.

I would rather stay with Motorola, Google bought Motorola Mobility, so I would imagine they will do some sweet things with their phones.

Just like the iPhone that has an un-removable battery u can probably hold two buttons together and it will re-boot

my decision has been made...i am going for the razr....now to see what sorta deal vzw will give me..i managed to have them give me $25 to get my og droid...but that was with the best buy $100 rebate...this is gonna take some skill....

On verizon's site I remember seeing a buy back option where they were offering 56.00 for each of my two OGs.
