who else loves the "chin"?

I really dig the droid's chin, you know that little bit that sticks out at the bottom. Makes it so easy to hold the Droid in portrait mode when I rest my thumb on it, middle finger right behind it on the back and index across the middle. I can't imagine holding it without the chin, I love it!

Hell you can barely tell about the gold accents, unless you have the keyboard open, the only button you can kinda see is the camera button, so unless you have the phone backwards, you don't notice the gold speaker grill.

i like the chin, i think it helps with ergonomics. Didnt like the gold but honestly totaly forgot about not liking it or noticing i until i saw it mentioned here.

Psh the gold accents are all in your mind. *Jedi Mind Trick* There are no gold accents on this phone.

How bad is this?.... I literally had to 'check' my DROID to see what gold accents you were talking about. LOL. Obviously I don't notice them at all.

Yea... the chin's nice, but I wish it could grow a beard to match mine :(

Ok well it sure isn't pretty and the chin doesn't help in that department. :) [ame="http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cmk4V6pe5Oc&"]Even MotoVerizon doesn't think so.[/ame]

Well since you asked I personally hate it. This is got to be my ugliest phone. Its very droidish.

The Droid design is certainly "Form follows function" instead of designing a phone around being "pretty" (they should do a commerical about that..wait..they already did).

Ugly or not I think it is the coolest looking phone ever made, I like industrial/high tech looking stuff and the Droid is tuff looking, especially with the shell/holster combo on it.

Looks like a tool (which is what I consider it) instead of a tiara :-)

I want my "tool droids" to be fuctional and useful.. if I want a pretty droid I wouldn't plan on using it as a phone.(think Cherry 2000) !

I Love the chin, it definitely makes it easy to hold as stated above. I also love the over all looks, including the gold accents. it reminds me of another communications device of which I am rather fond.

frankly I think the Droid is a visual mess. sure it he a certain macho quality to it compared to the iPhone but it always looks half baked. the back side is awful. it just looks like it has been slapped together. it does follow a certain american utilitarian design aesthetic though. classic American designs are not minimal but functional. I am thinking of pay phones mail boxes subway trains Amtrak etc. they are tough and well made but aren't highly polished and sleek like say Italian design or minimal like Swiss german style.
the chin is a kludge because they couldn't find a better way to incorpoate the antennae. apple changed to plastic case for the same reason.
having said all that though the tough metal body of the Droid inspires confidence and the chin provides an important ergonomic safe haven away from touch sensitive buttons.
I always thought it would be great to have a bezel free phone design with 100% screen and no border but after using a touch screen I realise this really wouldn't be practical
in summary I don't love the chin or the design in general but it works

i like it..i know that is a safe place to grab the droid from my pocket...no touchscreen or controls on it...
