Why can't cursor control be included in virtual keyboard?

Since I first found this thread looking for a way to move cursor to the end, I thought it will help update this thread with a workaround that I found. If you start the selection mode, then moving your finger past the textbox will cause android to scroll the text, so you can reach the position that you want and stop scrolling. The disadvantage is that your current text in the clipboard will be clobbered, and you might leave some unwanted text in the clipboard, but these should be minor issues.
